Dubois County Council, District 1

Experience

• President of Dubois Strong - 2014 to 2024. County wide economic development

  • Organizational focus: expansion of local housing, workforce attraction, improving access to childcare, and small business loan program

• 22 years of fiscal responsibility: annual fund-raising campaigns, budget preparation, monetary management, grant administration and project management

  • Roughly half of annual funding at Dubois Strong were grants from Dubois County government and the five incorporated municipalities; Jasper, Huntingburg, Ferdinand, Holland and Birdseye. Dubois Strong worked to be good stewards of the local tax dollars

  • The other 50% of Dubois Strong funds came from private business donors. Dubois County’s largest corporations and numerous small business owners.

Future budget concerns are motivation for his candidacy

• “The recent state legislated property tax revenue reductions will cause tight budgets for the county for many years to come. Dubois County voters will need to elect conservative money managers with extensive prior experience who are dedicated to maintaining the county’s financial health.”
