Are you interested in running for an office? Want to help spread the word of these candidates? Just want to give feedback to our candidates to help them improve? You can email us at duboiscountydemocraticparty@gmail.com or fill out the form at the bottom of this page. There are 2 links at the bottom of the page that offer details for voting and filing for candidacy. Every little bit helps.

In addition to the list of elected officials, 2026 is the Democrat Party’s turn to nominate Precinct Committeemen. We have 40 precincts in Dubois County, and we need a person to represent our party in each one. If you are interested in being a PC in your district tell us in the form below or email us at the link provided.

Not all of our state elected offices are presented on the Primaries ballots. The candidates for the positions of Secretary of State, State Treasurer, and State Comptroller (Auditor) are voted upon at the Democrat State Convention on June 6th, 2026 up in Indianapolis. Each county party has a number of delegates to elect to attend the state convention and vote for the Democrat candidate for these 3 positions. If you are interested in being a Democrat Election Delegate, again, fill out the form below or email us at the link provided.

State Democrat Convention 2026

Dubois County has 12 Convention Delegates plus the county party Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer, and Secretary. These people will go to the 2026 State Democratic Convention on Saturday, June 6th, 2026. At the convention, they will vote for the Democrat candidate for Secretary of State, State Treasurer, and State Comptroller (Auditor). If you want to be a Democrat Convention Delegate, you have to submit a CAN-37 Form filled out for State Convention Delegate as “At Large” (we don’t have delegate districts). The form needs to be notarized, so don’t sign and date the “Certification” section until you meet a notary. Turn the notarized form into the Dubois County Clerk’s Office in the Courthouse in Jasper, IN before noon, February 6th, 2026. The Clerk’s office should have a notary, as well as most banks. If you need help, feel free to contact us at duboiscountydemocraticparty@gmail.com and we can arrange help.

Dubois County Democrat Precinct Committeeman

Precinct Committeemen are a party affiliated office. The Republican Party and the Democrat Party has 1 Precinct Committeman and an optional Vice Precinct Committeeman for each precinct in their respective counties. These people represent their precinct in the county parties and have voting power inside their county party. A recent example is Mayor Dean Vonderheide’s resignation. Because Mr. Vonderheide is a Republican, the Dubois County Republican Party Chairman has to appoint a replacement. Given 2 people spoke up to fill his role until the next city election, the Precinct Committeemen representing the City of Jasper vote for who is appointed. Further responsibilities of Precinct Committeemen is to vote for the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer, and Secretary of their county party. Precinct Committeemen serve a 4 year term.

The year 2026 is the Democrats’ turn to elect their Precinct Committeemen. Do you want to help represent the Democrats of your Precinct? Do you want to help shape the Democrat Party in Dubois County? You can fill out a CAN-37 form selecting Precinct Committeman and your Precinct, get it notarized (don’t sign and date until you meet the Notary), and turn it in at the Clerk’s Office in the Courthouse in Jasper, IN by noon February 6th, 2026. Most banks and the Clerk’s Office have a Notary. If you need help, you can contact us at duboiscountydemocraticparty@gmail.com, and we will offer help.

There are 40 precincts in Dubois County, and we want you, the people of your precincts, to vote for who represents your precinct in our county party.

There are a lot of details here. Don’t worry, your ballot will not have everyone here. Your ballot will be based on what races involve your precinct.

Do you know your Precinct and which districts you are in? The most common requirements for running for office is being a registered voter in Indiana and living in the district for said office. The next common requirement is living in that district for 1 to 2 years. To run as a Democrat, the primary requirement involves your vote in your last 2 Indiana Primaries on your voting record. You need to have voted on the Democrat ballot in the last 2 Primaries you voted. If you did not, you will have to contact the Dubois County Democrat Party Chairman, Dennis Tedrow, for permission to run as a Democrat. You can reach him at our party email address or the form at the bottom of this page.

If you don’t know your voting precinct, the various districts you are in, and your voter status, you can click on the button below to go to the official Indiana Voters webpage and click on the “Visit My Voter Portal” Button somewhere to the middle of the page. Here, you can find out if you are registered to vote, your precinct and districts, and more.

Want access to official election forms for filing for candidacy, guides and manuals, and more? Click on the “Indiana Election Division” button to go to the Candidate Information page of Indiana’s official Election Division webpage, under Secretary of State’s website. You can find copies for all the important forms for filing for office and the state’s official guide on filing.

The list of Candidates here are based on the February 16th, 2026 Primary Candidates report from the Secretary of State’s office, found on the Indiana Election Division website, and information through our channels. It is updated daily on work days. We will try to update as regularly as we can.
